The meaning of Lagaan is taxation!

It was made in 2001 .Lagaan film is a sport drama flim from British Raj. The story is all about the villagers  burden with high tax .As they were challenge by an arrogant officer  with a game of cricket to avoid the taxes.So the villagers excepts the challenge  they  find themselves in an extraordinary way to relive from taxes.So the villagers face the difficult task of learning the alien game and they played well  as  a result that changed their village’s destiny.
Lagaan received many Indian as well as International film  awards . It became the third Indian film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film after Mother India (1957) and Salaam Bombay! (1988). It was one of the biggest box office hits of 2001!!
It was the best movie made by  director Ashutosh Gawariker.

The superstar Amir khan did an Awesome work !!

Music by A R Rehman was really very melodious.!!
